Celebrations Around Jersey City in March

March 2, 2019

While most of our minds go to green beer and shamrocks when we hear March is coming, this year the party is about to double with Mardi Gras falling just a week before Saint Patrick’s Day! While you may not be able to make it to New Orleans or Dublin this month, right outside our Lenox doors are plenty of opportunity to get into the party spirit.

If you love Hurricanes, po’ boys, fried oysters and jambalaya, then you certainly can’t miss out  on Just BeClaws, which is a ten minute walk from your Lenox apartment. This local favorite is a family-style seafood spot serving po’ boys and shrimp baskets in a nautical-themed, industrial space.

The owners offer locals and visitors the family-style dinner experience they enjoyed growing up in a down-to-earth setting with a menu features Southern cuisine that is literally finger-licking good.

After Fat Tuesday is over, the fun begins again on March 17th with Saint Patrick’s Day! While NYC may have the most famous Saint Paddy’s Day parade, NJ residents know that Hoboken is the city with the most green spirit around here.

Willie McBride’s, located in Hoboken, is just a 10-minute drive from your Lenox apartment and serves an array of draft beer plus pub grub in a small space with open fireplaces and live music on weekends.

On St. Patrick’s Day, spend the day at Willie McBride’s, which will host live Irish music all day and all night. They will also be part of the Hoboken LepreCon St Paddy’s Pub Crawl, so make sure you sign up to receive some great drink specials!
