As the summer winds down, Jersey City is winding up for August. From a month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ pride to Le Dîner en Blanc, August is set to be an exciting month for Jersey City residents who want to explore the city. Here’s what’s happening this August 2022 in Jersey City.
“More than an event. We are a movement.” Jersey City’s 21st Anniversary LGBTQ+ Pride Festival is set for this August. 27, 1-9 p.m. This year’s festival will be the culmination of a month-long celebration throughout Jersey City. The festival will return to Neware Avenue with and is expected to be even bigger than last year.
Not only is this celebration the largest LGBTQ+ celebration in Hudson County, Jersey City’s Pride Festival is considered one of the largest pride festivals in the Northeast. Learn more about Jersey City LGBTQ+ Pride Festival 2022.
Organizers of Jersey City’s Le Dîner en Blanc have announced a date for the most popular Parisian inspired pop-up dinner in the city — August 25, 2022.
Le Dîner en Blanc began in Paris in 1988 when François Pasquier returned from a trip abroad and decided to host a picnic for friends. As the guest list grew, Pasquier decided to move the picnic to a public space and asked guests to wear all white so that friends could find the picnic.
The dinner was such a success that the friends decided to keep hosting the annual picnic, which grew so popular that it became an international phenomenon.
Located at Riverview Fisk Park at 498 Palisade Ave. in Jersey City, Riverview Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. but did you know that there are also regular events held throughout the farmers market? Here are some events to check out this August.
